Karen YOUNG

Before opening The Young Group in 1999, Karen was Vice President of Marketing, Advertising, Product Development and Sales Promotion for Lancôme. Prior to that, she spent seventeen years at Estée Lauder, where she held a variety of executive positions, including Executive Director of Color Cosmetics.
Karen is an active board member of Fashion Group International. She is a certified personal trainer and nutritionist. Karen divides her time between New York and Paris, where The Young Group also has an office.
Since opening The Young Group, Karen has worked extensively in all categories of the cosmetic industry. She has developed concepts and products for RoC, Bath and Body Works, Neutrogena, e.l.f, Vichy and Oribe. Karen has worked on numerous established brands in the beauty category, including Christian Dior Beauté, Shiseido, Bumble & bumble, Dove and Paula’s Choice.
Karen is an adjunct professor at The Fashion Institute of Technology, teaching Product Development in the Master’s program in Cosmetic & Fragrance Marketing and Management.

Danielle McWaters is the Creative Director, Strategist, Educator, Advisor and Founder of California-based branding and packaging studio, Designsake. She started her career in publishing as a photographer, then transitioned to a visual designer at Benefit Cosmetics where she developed brand and product strategy, created custom packaging, and executed global advertising campaigns for six years. In 2014, she broke off to start Designsake. Since launching her studio, Danielle has partnered with numerous startups and legacy brands in the beauty, health and wellness, food and beverage, lifestyle, climate and B2B categories.Her studio has won numerous design awards including The Dieline, Print, World Brand Design Society, and Pentawards. mission-aligned product development, shifting the culture of beauty.
With a career spanning over 20 years, Watkins has demonstrated exceptional leadership
at industry giants Estee Lauder and Arbonne, where she spearheaded global product
development in all categories of beauty, lifestyle, and ingredient policy development.
At Holistic Beauty Group, Watkins and her team of product developers, strategists and
scientists are dedicated to developing culturally resonating products and formulations
that represent the modern era of beauty, sparking dialogues and empowering new
voices within the beauty space. In recent years, Robyn and her team launched products
at the intersection of beauty and psychodermatology, helping to define a new category
of beauty supporting the mind-body axis. Noteworthy clients include high profile
celebrities, Versed, Pattern, Rizos Curls, Selfmade, and Bread Beauty Supply.
Robyn has illuminated a path and left the door open for many to follow, paying it

Sam is a former machine learning and software engineer with a strong background in retail technology. He used to work at Facebook Marketplace, collaborating closely with major e-commerce platforms like Shopify and BigCommerce. Sam later started his own Shopify store and founded a successful Shopify app, which became one of the top 100 apps on the Shopify App store. Sam’s experiences in building retail systems and managing e-commerce stores have shown him how tedious and time-consuming a lot of retail operations are for a typical merchant, especially around managing inventories. These insights inspired him to co-found Shypyard, with the mission to become the next generation inventory planning and forecasting tool for independent beauty brands. Shypyard aims to merge the power of AI with client’s business acumen to unlock cash from excess inventory and increase gross margins.

Not only have his words appeared in publications like The Muse and Branders, but he was also the Managing Editor at PRINT. Bill and his family call Massachusetts home, but he is still very much a Philadelphia Phillies fan, so don’t worry too much about where his allegiances are.
