FEKKAI BRANDS AND BASTIDE
For almost three decades, Frédéric Fekkai has shaped the international beauty landscape.
Born in Aix-en-Provence, France, Frédéric rapidly rose through the beauty ranks. Early on, his approach to hair was clear -instead of performing a “signature cut”, Frédéric became the master of customization. By 1989, Frédéric’s modern cuts caught the attention of Bergdorf Goodman and he was invited to design a salon within the celebrated department store. Frédéric Fekkai Beauty Center became an instant mecca.
Frédéric’s vision extended beyond running a salon when he realized that women spared no expense on their complexions, but the majority of haircare products were purchased at the drugstore. With a nod to prestige skincare, Frédéric decided to extend the luxury hair experience from his salon into clients’ homes with a product collection. From packaging and texture to fragrance, the products have always asserted “luxury cues” for a sensorial experience.
By 1995, Frédéric Fekkai evolved from a salon owner and stylist with an impressive roster of clients to a luxury lifestyle brand. By 2005, Frédéric redesigned his flagship and opened a 10,000 square foot salon on New York’s Fifth Avenue.
The brand was acquired in 2008 by Procter & Gamble, and then in 2015 by Fekkai Brands LLC. During this time, Frédéric Fekkai served as consultant, participating in a strategic role as he worked to celebrate the equity of the brand.
Always passionate about development and innovation, Frédéric and his wife Shirin launched Bastide in 2016. The line includes products for skin, body, and home using rich, potent, good-for-you ingredients from Provence and clean recipes nurtured by artisans with generations of savoir-faire.
In 2018, Frédéric Fekkai reclaimed his namesake brand and looks forward to reinvigorating the Fekkai brand. Frédéric will be infusing his passion for mentoring and training back into the salon, updating the product line up, and looking ahead to exciting partnerships as he continues to innovate within the haircare space and beyond.

Lauren Steinberg, a Valley Girl at heart, was born and raised in Los Angeles. Growing up, she always had an entrepreneurial spirit and knew she was destined to start her own company, but never imagined it would be the first millennial-focused feminine wellness brand, Queen V.
After graduating from The University of Southern California, Lauren landed her dream job, at the time, workingon amazing brands, such as: Skinnygirl and Fabletics. She was thriving at work, but quickly realized the "boys club" environment that Hollywood had to offer and the traditional 9-to-5 wasn’t for her. Lauren knew she was meant for more and wanted to create a company that would empower her fellow females to find their voices
and speak out!
As the daughter of a gynecologist and fertility specialist, you could say that feminine wellness was always a part of Lauren’s life. As she grew up she started to develop infections "down there," aka her Queen V. Lauren had no clue what was causing these problems, and after talking with her gynecologist and friends, she realized she wasn’t alone!
After trying, and failing, to find healthy products to nourish her Queen V, Lauren noticed that nothing on the shelves was affordable, empowering or fun! So she set out to design a line of products that are natural, convenient, easy to understand, and beautifully designed. Lauren is determined to change the conversation around feminine health because she knows that women shouldn’t be afraid or embarrassed to talk about what's going on with their Queen V.
Lauren created the Queen V brand in hopes to empower women to become educated about their health and inspire them to use their voice to pursue something they are passionate about because let's face it when women feel their best, they can take on the world.
